Chamber Ambassador Policies & Procedures

Handbook

What is an Ambassador?

• Chamber Ambassadors are individuals who help represent and promote the Wetumpka Area

Chamber of Commerce, as well as promote their own business to other companies.

• The Ambassador Program consists of enthusiastic volunteers from the Chamber

membership who donate their time to help build member commitment and raise

community awareness of Chamber activities and benefits.

What Are the Benefits to the Ambassador Company?

• The Ambassadors grow professionally and personally by building business

relationships within the community. Getting involved with the Ambassador Program

is one of the first steps you can take to become more involved with the Chamber.

The program is ideal if you have a desire to become more active in the local business

environment, raise awareness of your business or organization and give back to your

community.

• The Ambassador Program provides opportunities for you to connect with local

business leaders and build lasting relationships. You will have an insider’s perspective of

the local business community and a high level of prestige and credibility is extended to

your business or occupation through your involvement with this well-respected goodwill

group.

What Are the Requirements?

• Ambassador monthly meetings include updates on all upcoming Chamber functions

and insight into unique happenings within our community.

• Ambassadors attend as many ribbon cutting and grand opening events during the year as

schedules allow to help our New & Existing Members in their celebrations, promoting a

cohesive membership through relationship building.

• Ambassadors’ marketing material will be inserted in our New Chamber Member Gift Bags.

Suitable items for this might be a company brochure, business card, note pad, pen,

thumb drive or any professional marketing gift where you would like to display your

business name. These bags will be given to new Chamber members. This is your first connection to

make a business partnership with our new members. Make it a lasting first impression!

• Ambassadors’ photo, name, company name and business email will be displayed on

the Chamber’s website under the special Ambassador page. http://productivecms.com/wetumpkachamber/chamber-ambassador-program_1.html

What Are the Requirements and Fees?

• Ambassadors must be employed by or own a business that has a Chamber business

membership in good standing.

• Ambassadors must fill out and submit an application with payment every year to

continue in the program.

• Ambassador Membership dues, payments and all other fees due the Chamber must

be paid on time to remain in the program.

• If applicable, Ambassadors must have their employer’s approval to participate in the

program.

• Ambassadors must be willing to attend each ribbon cutting and grand opening within

a one month time frame of his/her choice (and volunteer space available) during their

year of service to ensure appropriate coverage for our new member businesses.

• Ambassadors must also be willing to attend each Breakfast, Quarterly Luncheon or Business

After Hours occurring within his/her chosen month of service, or find an appropriate

replacement from the Ambassador population membership-at-large if attendance is not

possible at any given event.

• A professional, high-res photo must be submitted with the application or be taken at

the Chamber to be used on the website for our photo directory of Ambassadors.

The annual Ambassador Fee is $20 for the full year running January 1 through December 31

• Ambassador fees are non-refundable.

• Ambassador name badges must be ordered upon acceptance into the program

and after you have submitted your application with the fee payment.

• Payment for the annual Ambassador Program must be received prior to the February

lunch session in order to continue in the program.

What Are the Restrictions?

• You may not solicit for any political issue or person at the Chamber or at any Chamber

sponsored events.

• The Chamber reserves the right to remove any Chamber volunteer from any Chamber

volunteer program at any time.

• When attending any ceremony, use your best Chamber etiquette. Please remember:

you are a guest of the Chamber and will be representing the Chamber as an

Ambassador.

• When introducing yourself to the host, this is a chance to build a new relationship –

not to ask for business. Feel free to leave your business card so the member knows

that you attended and becomes aware of your company.
